The city of Lelystad is located strategically on the crossroads of the barge routes that interconnect the Port of Amsterdam with the rest of Europe (via river). Optimal inland transport is considered vital for the European supply chain and provides an opportunity to develop an inland port in the precinct of the city of Lelystad. The Province of Flevoland recognizes the value of such a facility in a wider context and has taken the lead in its integration and financing. StigΔ is involved as developing consultant and advises on the development process, risks, contracting and financial feasibility. After having had the Maxima power plant as a temporary location, the terminal will be built in 2016 and 2017.
