The Port and City of Den Helder have an economic growth ambition. Growth can be accommodated if the Royal Navy surrender’s space in return for added functionality and synergetic benefits. StigΔ is working on a port development plan based on market research, spatial development plans (technical environmental) and financial justification that caters for growth of the commercial core activity, offshore supply as well as improved hinterland logistics of the Port of Den Helder. The offshore market consists of both oil and gas (observed shallow gas, life time extension and decommissioning trends) as well as off shore wind energy.
