The Egyptian government has conceived plans to - in the wake of the widening of the Suez Canal - widely develop port areas, industrial zones, and residential areas in the vicinity of the channel. This involves a multibillion ambition. For decades the passing world market provides an opportunities for this purpose, now the time is judged to be right to seize this opportunity. The development of plans was outsourced to the Suez Canal Authority, which requested support to take up such projects independently. The Suez Canal Authority has received support from Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment which aims at enhancing economic relations with Egypt. As an expert and economic strategist StigΔ is requested by the Ministry to serve the SCA.
