Stig-founder Onno Roelofs has been appointed quartermaster of the Port of Harlingen, which is to be developed this year as an ’NV’ or Limited Company. Roelofs shall be appointed interim executive of the Port as of the moment the Ltd. is created.
“We have developed a strategy to ensure a decent economic growth and to market the port appropriately in the near future”, Roelofs is quoted in an article in local newspaper de Leeuwarder Courant this week. “We strive to intensify promising clusters and want to position the port more clearly. A strong industrial cluster with service providers, suppliers, labour potential and other resources is the main condition to attract customers and port companies. We definitely don’t want to pass over companies but we do want to focus on distinct segments for the port.”
Last year, the city council voted in favour of the privatization of the Port of Harlingen.
Stig provided the strategy and business case for the port and guided the decision making process as well as stakeholder management.
